Sarah Brafman - President | E-mail |
| A Columbia/Barnard Hillel enthusiast, Sarah considers Hillel to be a home away from home. In this coming year, she is most excited to both enrich and learn from everyone in Hillel. Currently a junior in Columbia College majoring in History, Sarah was previously the Hillel Social Justice Coordinator and on the boards of CoreFoods and LionPAC, an editor for The Current, as well as a student leader for the Hillel/Office of Multicultural Affairs Alternative Spring Break to New Orleans. Most importantly, in the words of Arthur the Ardvark, she simply wants to “put a smile on your face and make the world (and specifically, Hillel) a better place.” Sarah is available at any hour of any day to discuss anything and everything about Hillel and can’t wait to work with the entire community to ensure that Hillel ’09 will be a roaring good time! |

Doug Yolen - Treasurer | E-mail |
| Doug is thrilled to serve as Treasurer for the Executive Board of 2009, as a proud member of the Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) class of 2011. He is from Ridgefield, CT, a small town about forty minutes out of the city, and is thrilled to be studying here in Morningside Heights. Hopefully, he’ll be majoring in Operations Research: Engineering Management Systems with a minor concentration in Statistics. An active voice (no pun intended) in Pizmon, Columbia’s Jewish A Cappella group, Doug loves to sing, and you could probably hear him once or twice a semester in Hillel. Other things he loves include: The Office, live music, football, and the New York Mets. As part of the E-board, Doug is looking forward to working with all of the groups and leaders in Hillel on a regular basis. Furthermore, as treasurer, he hopes to work out all of the budgeting problems of the pass, help with programming, and be a resource for all financial needs. Overall, Doug is extremely excited to work with such an amazing E-board!

Stephanie Riederman - Interfaith/Intercultural Coordinator | E-mail |
| Hi my name is Stephanie Riederman and I'm a Columbia College Sophomore majoring in Political Science. Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, my childhood instilled within me an immense amount of hometown pride, and more specifically an earnest appreciation for the black-eyed susan (our state flower) and the oriole (our state bird). I hope to bring my enthusiasm to Hillel where I will be serving on the Executive Board as Head of Interfaith/ Intercultural Programming! "Have I ever seen this girl before?" you may ask. Many students might remember me from various Shabbat Meals Committee events, where I helped coordinate such smashing themed meals as the "Love a President" dinner (I still have that picture of Nixon) along with the faculty dinner. However, my love for all things interfaith and intercultural first began with my participation in the Hillel/OMA alternative spring break trip to New Orleans last semester. I have also involved myself elsewhere on campus by writing for the Columbia Current and the Columbia Political Review. Occasionally, I like to pretend that I can dance, and have attempted to learn the accompanying choreography for many pop hits while also enjoying a short stint on CU step. I am always up for a conversation about religion, politics, and the relationship between religion and politics, as well as any foods containing avocado. I am looking forward to a fantastic year at Hillel and am excited to begin the important work of strengthening the relationship between our community and other groups on campus!

Gabe Seed - Religious Life Coordinator | E-mail |
| Gabe Seed is a sophomore in the Joint Program between the School of General Studies (GS) and the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS), where he is majoring in History and Talmud. Gabe has lived almost all over North America, spending time in Milwaukee, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Toronto. He also lived in Israel for a year, studying at the Conservative Yeshiva and irrigating the fields of Kibbutz En Zurim before arriving here at Columbia. Within Hillel, he has served as member of the Seudah Shlisheet committee and as Rosh Chodesh/Festival coordinator for Koach. Besides having a passion for Judaism, Jewish learning and Hebrew grammar, Gabe is a political junkie and West Wing fan. He also has a knack for anything related to geography, and enjoys all kinds of fleichig (meat) delicacies. Gabe is very excited to help make Hillel a welcoming community for students from all Jewish backgrounds in the coming year. He is looking forward to working with all the different religious groups on campus as the 2009 Religious Life Coordinator.

| As a proud Birthright alum, Brandon is so excited to be Israel Coordinator! Originally from Clarksville, MD, Brandon is a member of Columbia College class of 2010 and is majoring in Film Studies and Political Science. While not in class or watching artsy, foreign, and old movies, Brandon can be frequently found studying (and more often schmoozing) in Hillel, where he is happy to discuss anything related to Israel, Judaism, or life in general. Within Hillel, Brandon has served on the e-board of Kesher (Reform Jews on Campus) and the Shabbat Meals Task Force. Brandon has also been an associate editorial page editor of the Columbia Daily Spectator and a contributor to the Bwog.

Michal Cohen - Education Coordinator | E-mail |
| Hi! I am really excited to be on e-board 2009 and I am thrilled to be your education coordinator for this year. While I like to play up my Swedish heritage, I am actually a native New Jerseyan. A few of my favorite things around Columbia/Barnard: the trees in Riverside Park, Hawaiian chickpeas at Hewitt, loving some of the least liked books in CC and Lit Hum (Augustine and Thucydides), and of course Friday night hangouts at Hillel. I would love to talk with you about ideas for classes, lectures, programs, our Yom Hashoah commemoration, Hillel, or anything in general. Looking forward to a wonderful year!

Rachel Loebl - Social Justice Coordinator | E-mail |
| Rachel Loebl is a junior at Barnard from Little Rock, Arkansas. She is majoring in History and hopes to attend medical school. Although it was a culture shock to leave the 100 acres of the American Hebrew Academy, a co-ed pluralistic boarding high school in Greensboro, North Carolina, Rachel couldn’t imagine going to school anywhere else than in Manhattan. When the city gets too cold, Rachel enjoys visiting her family, who now lives in Tucson, Arizona. As you can tell, she has trouble staying in one place for too long. Outside of Hillel, Rachel can be found being the only person in the North who listens to country music, eating vegetarian food, or studying in one of Columbia’s many libraries. Inside Hillel, Rachel has served as a member of the Social Justice Committee and a co-founder of the Jewishly Informed Giving Fellowship (Curious to know about it? Just ask!) . She is excited to continue to infuse the Columbia/Barnard Hillel and the Columbia community with social justice!
